Epesus City 2017-06-22T12:17:43+00:00

EPESUS for cities models and monitors flows such as material, energy etc.occuring in built environment, districts and cities, industrial zones, waste and infrastructure facilities, with geographical information system (GIS) based analysis and visualization capabilities and supports informed decision making at district or city level.

Smart Approach to Optimize Your Neighbourhood

Capabilities

  • Modelling of urban flows based on urban metabolism concept

  • Agent based modelling to assess social aspects of sustainability measures

  •  Integrated assesment of all urban flows via multi-objective optimization

  •  Life cycle cost analysis

  • Life cycle assessment

  • Dynamic assessment based on trend analysis

  •  Integration with BIM tools to utilize hourly energy simulations

  • Analysis and visualization of complex urban data

  • Identification of representative buildings (residential, public, commercial etc.) in district

  • Up-scaling to city or municipality level with geo-referencing

How Epesus City Works

Inventory management , Importing and Use of External Life cycle inventories

Epesus allows users to see and manage details of inventories. Users can add or remove building blocks to model processes well. Moreover, cloning components (flows, processes, models) is another important feature that allows user to implement new components, which depend on existing components. Using these features, users have the capability of modelling complex systems using existing components and extended components. In Addition, well-defined and elastic structure of Epesus, will make external library integration easier. All of functions depend on inventory permissions.

System model design

If pre-designed components do not fit with our needs, users can design components to model real life needs in platform data inventory. Moreover, Users can design system models to model different scenarios and flows between processes of real life systems. These system models will help us to store real life relations and to do before after cases, trend analyses, material flow analyses, network analysis. System models will help us to model networks of facilities, processes and other components in a graph manner. In this structure, we can describe System Model as a model of network of sub components of our focus. System models can include models or processes and defined material flows between processes.

LCA – LCC

Processes, flows, units to describe any process and its inner mechanism details are described according to LCA structure. For either single component LCA or complete network analyses, the same structure in used. The system models can be also used for network based LCA result benchmarking.

Comparison of scenarios

Users can perform analysis using different metrics and methods. Users choose proper KPIs and sustainability metrics to define proper measurement aspects for any model. Strongest aim and motivation of EPESUS, is to improve system based on chosen metrics. We also have some major functionalities about monitoring and measurement of success.
