OBJECTIVES
BIM4REN aims workflows adapted to the construction sector presenting particular technical and organisational requirements and has adapted the project and consortium to provide adequate and innovative processes, methodologies, software and hardware tools & BIM developments, backboned by state of the art BIM technologies like BIMServer (open-source) and BIM Bots.
INNOVATIVE ASPECTS
BIM4REN is very ambitious at each of its four innovation levels:
- 1. BIM4REN IDDS ready workflows:
Different workflows using different innovative digital tools adapted to different end-users are put into a systematic, collaborative and integrated framework (IDDS).
- 2. BIM4REN BIM & Digital environment:
Workflows are backboned by novel state-of-art BIM solutions technically implemented on an open access platform, to perform automated renovation assessment & design.
- 3. BIM4REN Ecosystem in One Stop Access Platform:
All these services integrated altogether from a single entry point (central to the OI2 paradigm) that will allow access to every stakeholder.
- 4. BIM4REN pilots as Living labs:
The project’s Living Lab approach encapsulates the multidisciplinary partner expertise to set the foundation

TECHNOLOGIES
IMPACTS
- 25% Time, 20% Energy, 10% Material and >50% ROI gains
- Living lab pilots engaging over 10000 stakeholders featuring Paris, San Sebastian and Venice
- Tech transfer to the world’s largest open source BIM platform (TNO’s BIMSERVER.ORG)
- Rise of BIM Applications and analytics on top of BIM models and across construction phases
- Inclusion of BIM guidelines in residential specific sustainability protocols (e.g. GBC Home)
