OBJECTIVES
- HyCool project mission is to increase the current use of solar heat in industry processes.
- The project proposes the coupling of a new Fresnel CSP Solar thermal collectors system with Hybrid Heat Pumps (a “two-in one” combination of adsorption and compressor based heat pumps) for a wider output temperature range (Solar Heating & Cooling), and a wide range of design and operational configurations to increase the potential implementation of the proposed solar heat in industrial environments.
INNOVATIVE ASPECTS
- Highly efficient and flexible hybrid chiller technology:
It will take advantage of the renewable solar heat source to drive a sorption module, thus increasing the electric efficiency of a vapor compression chiller.
- Solar cooling:
Through a patented innovation Fresnex will be able to significantly reduce the system costs compared to existing technologies while parallel reducing the complexity of integration.
- Phase change materials (PCMs)
- AR/VR BIM-based Digital Twins for Training and Communication activities
